RESEARCH & LEADERSHIP INTELLIGENCE
Mapping the People, Institutions, and Networks That Shape Our World.
The Global Leadership Power Index™ is an international research and leadership intelligence initiative developed by London Leadership Review™.
The Index examines how individuals exercise power and influence across business, government, finance, institutions, and society.
Its purpose is to produce credible, evidence-based intelligence that helps businesses, governments, and institutions understand leadership power, identify strategic relationships, and make better-informed decisions.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
EVALUATIVE FRAMEWORK
The Global Leadership Power Index™ examines ten distinct levers through which individuals exercise power and influence.
Each lever represents a different source of authority, control, or influence within the global economic, political, institutional, and social landscape.
Electoral mandates, political leadership, party influence, and the ability to shape political agendas.
Executive authority, public administration, regulation, economic policymaking, and control over public resources.
Corporate ownership, executive leadership, commercial decision-making, and influence over business ecosystems.
Institutional finance, investment allocation, lending, capital markets, and control over financial resources.
Personal wealth, beneficial ownership, family offices, private investment holdings, and discretionary capital.
Authority exercised through major institutions, international organisations, professional bodies, and established institutional networks.
Civil society leadership, community mobilisation, public advocacy, and influence over civic institutions.
Influence over information, media platforms, public discourse, communications, and the narratives shaping public perceptions.
Influence derived from research, academic authority, specialist expertise, innovation, and intellectual contributions.
Influence exercised through entertainment, sport, the arts, creative industries, and cultural institutions.
SCORING ARCHITECTURE
The Global Leadership Power Index™ is structured around a straightforward 100-point assessment system.
Each of the ten levers contributes a maximum of ten points to an individual’s overall score.
The combined score produces a Global Leadership Power Index™ rating out of 100.
The framework supports comparative assessment across different forms of leadership, sectors, institutions, and geographical markets.

RESEARCH APPLICATIONS
Understanding where power resides, how it is exercised, and which individuals influence consequential decisions can provide valuable intelligence for businesses operating in complex markets.
The Global Leadership Power Index™ is being developed to support:
Understanding influential individuals, institutions, and networks across international markets.
Identifying relevant leadership networks, institutional relationships, and potential commercial opportunities.
Understanding the individuals and institutions influencing capital allocation, investment decisions, and financial markets.
Mapping the individuals and institutions shaping public policy, regulation, economic development, and institutional decision-making.
Supporting informed engagement with influential individuals, organisations, and cross-sector networks.
The Index is intended to develop into a long-term research asset supporting informed commercial and institutional decision-making.
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
The Global Leadership Power Index™ is being developed as a structured research and leadership intelligence framework rather than a popularity ranking.
Its methodology will combine defined evaluation criteria, evidence gathering, source verification, institutional mapping, comparative assessment, and structured review.
Research will examine both established and emerging leaders, recognising that power may arise through formal authority, institutional position, economic resources, personal networks, intellectual influence, or broader societal impact.
The research programme will establish consistent standards for how individuals are identified, researched, assessed, classified, and presented.
London Leadership Review™ retains responsibility for the Index’s intellectual architecture, research governance, methodological standards, and editorial independence.
RESEARCH FELLOWS
London Leadership Review™ is developing a Research Fellows programme to support the Global Leadership Power Index™.
Research Fellows will contribute to the evidence base through leadership research, institutional mapping, data collection, source verification, comparative analysis, and structured leadership profiling.
The programme provides opportunities for researchers and emerging thinkers interested in leadership, governance, economics, institutions, business, and international affairs to contribute to a developing global leadership intelligence initiative.
Research Fellows operate within the research framework and institutional governance established by London Leadership Review™.
